March 4, NYC: Beloved Comrades—The Political & Personal Partnership of Annette Rubinstein & Vito Marcantonio

Come to a discussion of the relationship between renowned Marxist literary critic Annette Rubinstein, author of American Literature Root and Flower, vols. I and II, and Vito Marcantonio, the seven-term American Labor Party congressman from East Harlem. Gerald Meyer, author of Vito Marcantonio: Radical Politician, will examine Rubinstein’s and Marcantonio’s political connections, while Stephen Siciliano, screenwriter and novelist, will explore Rubinstein’s analysis of Percy Shelley and Lord Byron, described by Rubinstein as revolutionary poets. The event will be chaired by poet Gil Fagiani.
